Yeah, so I've been Missing in Action for a while. No excuses, no apologies. I'm an artist, remember? This genius cannot be forced! :-)
Along with my readers, I, too, am still in the process of switching careers. The demise of the economy has certainly added immensely to my motivation. I checked my e-mail this morning for the first time in forever and found several positive e-mails waiting from lawyers who have successfully switched careers and others who, with fingers crossed, anxiously await the day. But, more importantly, I discovered that my blog, yeah JDSnub has made the ABA Journal 100 best websites!!! Are you freakin' kiddin' me? Next year, it's the Grammys, Oscars, something big, I can feel it!
Okay so back to you, my loyal readers and fans, okay perhaps fans is jumping the gun a bit. But really, I've spent the last couple of months focusing on the things that I love. I've watched countless movies (really everyone should sign up for Netflix). Here are some of my new favorites:
Sansho the Bailiff (1954) - a beautiful film with a painful story
The Darjeeling Limited (2007) and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) - I fell madly in love with Director Wes Anderson with the release of The Royal Tenenbaums, which I think tops the list of Stuff White People Like, and while I'm not white...I do like!
Keeping Mum (2005) - a wickedly dark comedy
All That Heaven Allows (1955) - it just makes you want to fall in love
Lost in Beijing (2007) - banned in China and an exceptional portrait of the changing face of China
New favorite books:
The Corpse Walker: Real Life Stories: China from the Bottom Up
The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It for Life - I picked this book up the other day after reading Merlin Mann's write up on his website, 43 Folders. I read it in one evening. I'm sold on it mainly because Twyla Tharp gives it to you straight. Passion is an absolute and you will need it to be able to stick with whatever you determine your craft to be.
New favorite music:
Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak - I think Kanye's arrogance is tempered only by his genius. Love! Love! Love this cd!
Paolo Nutini's These Streets - It was released in Jan 2007 so it may only be new to me, but I love his voice.
Ferras' Aliens & Rainbows - Nice cd - I was sold with his song "Dear God," in which he asks "If you really exist, why do I have to deal with all of this b***s***?" He asked it, I didn't! But when the answer comes, I hope he shares it.
T.I.'s Paper Trail - If rap music offends anyone, sorry. My bestfriend has a child and constantly offends me when she purchases the CLEAN version of my favorite rap cds so we all have our cross to bear. :-)
Okay so these have been my motivation, but I haven't just pilfered off the genius of others. I've been working hard as well. I'm conducting workshops for teachers online. I've written screenplay #2 (autobiographical - which loosely translates to crazy) and I've written four new songs (not bad but could be better). So talk to me people! For you lawyers who say you want to do something else with your lives, where is the proof? How have you been spending your time?

Blogs are good for every one where we get lots of information for any topics nice job keep it up !!!
